The Yale School of Music (YSM), established in 1854, is the only music school within the Ivy League.It is dedicated to training world-class musicians and offers full-tuition scholarships and stipends to all admitted students.Approximately 200 students from the U.S. and around the world are admitted annually to study with Yale's distinguished faculty.

Program Duration

Application Requirements

  1. Online Application: Complete all sections by the deadline

  2. Prescreening Recordings: Submit high-quality audio and/or video recordings as specified by your program

  3. Resume/CV: Include educational background, teachers, musical experience (solo, chamber, orchestral), festivals attended, etc.

  4. Passport Scan: Provide a scanned copy of the identification page

  5. Three Letters of Recommendation: From individuals familiar with your musical abilities

  6. Official Transcripts: Submit English-translated transcripts

  7. Repertoire List: List of audition pieces

English Proficiency Requirements

  • TOEFL: Minimum score of 86. Initial scores must be submitted by December 1, 2024. Applicants have until March 1, 2025, to meet the minimum requirement.

  • IELTS: Minimum score of 6.5

Tuition and Financial Aid
